Gail Crane is a freelance writer and author of romance novel, Master of Hanging Cross.

It follows her first novel, Flynn's Folly. Both books were inspired by the rugged moors and coast of Exmoor where she lives. She has also written numerous short stories.

Her non-fiction work reflects her fascination with the history and people of Exmoor. The Murder of Anna Maria is the true story of notorious Exmoor murderer, William Burgess. Stained Glass in Exmoor Churches, is an illustrated exploration of the stories behind the images in church windows.

In 2014 she gained a BA (Hons) degree with Open University, studying creative writing, and is a member of the Alliance of Independent Authors.
