Autorenporträt
Gail Crane was born in Shropshire but spent most of her life in Oxfordshire. After enjoying many family holidays on Exmoor, on retirement she realised a dream to move there to live. She has always had a fascination for history, and soon became engrossed with the history and legends of Exmoor and its people.

She has published two romance novels, inspired by the moors and coast of Exmoor, and her short stories have been published in magazines, and as collections in books. Her growing interest in the history of Exmoor inspired her first non-fiction work, The Murder of Anna Maria, the true story of notorious Exmoor murderer, William Burgess. This was followed by "Stained Glass in Exmoor Churches", an illustrated exploration of the stories behind the images in the windows.

In 2014 she successfully completed a BA (Hons) degree with Open University, studying creative writing, and is a member of the Alliance of Independent Authors.
