The volume presents the life and "adventures" of a family, specifically the eldest brother, László, based on his own diary entries from that period. Reading the book gives us a picture of everyday life during that historical period-the building of socialism-as well as the worldview of young people at the time, their situation in various circles, their opportunities, and their relationships. A strange feeling comes over you as you read, imagining sitting in one of the iconic restaurants in Szeged (some of which may no longer exist) where, for 35-40 forints, you could fill yourself up with a nutritious, tasty cooked meal, perhaps picturing the vividly described college environment. The book invites the reader on a real journey through time, starting in Gyor, through the teenage years of a high school student, through compulsory military service, all the way to the end of university in Szeged.

A szerz¿ Téten született két testvérével, majd Gy¿rbe költözött a család. Szüleik nagy gondot fordítottak a taníttatásukra. László, Magdolna és Ágnes a gy¿ri Révai Gimnáziumban érettségiztek. Szüleik nem kis anyagi er¿feszítése árán mindhárman továbbtanultak, egyetemet végeztek, történetesen mind a hárman Szegeden. Ketten a jogi egyetemet végezték el, egyikük pedig az orvosit. A kötet hangsúlyosan a legid¿sebb testvér, László életét mutatja be korabeli napjóbejegyzésein keresztül.
