Will Winning Cost Her Everything?

Champion swimmer Aerin Keane is ready to trade her Olympic dreams for a shot at normal. Starting her senior year at her third high school, Two Rivers, she's desperate to outrun her family's troubles and finally fit in. No more competitive swimming, no more "freak" status-just fun, friends, and blending into the crowd.

But the pool still calls to her. When the thrill of victory clashes with her longing for acceptance, Aerin faces an impossible choice. A long-standing school record and a $50,000 scholarship hang in the balance, pushing her to choose between her newfound friendships and the competitive fire she swore to extinguish.

Can Aerin redefine what it means to win when the price might be everything she's ever wanted? "Swim Season" is a fast-paced, drama-filled young adult novel that will have you hooked from the first page. Based on the author's own experience as a swim mom in high school and collegiate swimming, this book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a good coming of age story. Buy now before the price changes! If you enjoyed "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas, you'll love "Swim Season." Both books explore the struggles of trying to fit in while staying true to oneself, and the pressure to succeed in a competitive environment. Don't miss out on this powerful and emotional read.

Readers say:

"As a former swimmer and a swim mom myself, I believe this rich, well written story with authentic characters participating in a demanding sport, accurately supports real life issues for teens. It will no doubt hold the interest of both swimmers and non-swimmers alike."

"Get yourself a copy to read during all the downtime at the pool and/or waiting in the car for your swimmer. It'll lend fresh perspective to what's important- with college looming on the horizon and as our nests empty out. Loved this book!"

"This book should be next on your list if you love YA, strong characters, and sports!"

Autorenporträt
Marianne Sciucco writes contemporary and YA fiction. She says she's not a nurse who writes but a writer who happens to be a nurse.

A lover of words and books, she dreamed of becoming an author when she grew up but became a nurse to avoid poverty. She later brought her two passions together and writes about the intricate lives of people struggling with health and family issues.

Her debut novel, Blue Hydrangeas, an Alzheimer's love story, is a Kindle bestseller, Indie Reader Approved, a Book Works Book of the Week, a Library Journal Self-e Selection, and a 5-star Readers Favorite. Marianne's work with Alzheimer's patients and their families led her to help found the organization AlzAuthors.com, the global community of authors writing about Alzheimer's and dementia from personal experience to light the way for others. She is president of the organization, a board member, manager, acquisitions editor, and podcast host and producer for Untangling Alzheimer's and Dementia, an AlzAuthors Podcast.

Marianne has also published a Young Adult novel, Swim Season, an Official Selection in the Young Adult General Fiction category of New Apple's 2017 Annual Book Awards for Excellence in Independent Publishing and a Book Works Book of the Week. Swim Season is based on the author's 11 years' experience as a Swim Mom, and the longest book she hopes she'll ever write. She prefers shorter fiction, and has published three short stories: Ino's Love, the award-winning Collection: Daisy Hunter Story No. 1, and Birthday Party: Daisy Hunter Story No. 2. The Daisy Hunter stories are loosely based on her childhood experiences. Visit her Amazon page for details on all her stories.

A native Bostonian, Marianne lives in New York's Hudson Valley. When not writing, she works as a campus nurse at a community college and helps run AlzAuthors.com. She enjoys books, the beach, and craft beer, preferably all at the same time.
