The first is to give guidance to teachers contemplating retirement while helping them to maintain realistic standards for their students. Steve Sonntag, during his forty years in education, has served as a mentor teacher, department chairperson, tutor, and as a junior college, university, and charter school teacher. He has also been his district's high school teacher of the year, a family and teacher workshop presenter, a Phi Delta Kappa officer, and an author. His goals are to encourage, praise, and inspire his readers in order to improve their personal and professional lives in practical, creative ways.
