Two souls. One impact. A lifetime of cruelty exchanged in a moment of collision.

When a girl from the slums and a boy from privilege cross paths in a crowded college classroom, what begins as disdainful glances and cruel insinuations spirals into something far more intimate-and irreversible. Bound by nothing but mutual resentment and different Gods, their fates collide in a tragic road accident that should have ended everything.

But death, it seems, is just the beginning.

In the haze of fractured bones and broken spirits, a surreal soul exchange blurs the lines between victim and perpetrator, pride and pain, boy and girl. Now trapped in each other's memories, they relive the violence, the silence, the family histories soaked in patriarchy, and the gods that never came to help.

Raw, unflinching, and achingly poetic, The Accident is a brutal exploration of class, gender, faith, and the quiet terror of being seen. Shanaya Stephens crafts a haunting tale that asks: What if our worst enemies carried our most sacred wounds?
