Darrell Pitt is a Melbourne-based writer with a lifelong interest in public speaking and communication.

As a long term member of Toastmasters International, he has achieved Toastmaster's highest educational recognition - the Distinguished Toastmaster award. In 2016 he was selected as the District 73 Toastmaster of the Year among a field of more than 3000 members.

He has delivered hundreds of presentations, as well as being a winner of many public speaking contests.

In addition to his interest in speaking, he is also an accomplished author. His thirteen novels include the 2015 CBCA Notable book, The Firebird Mystery, and the 2017 Russell Prize shortlisted novel, A Toaster on Mars.

His most recent work is The Fast Guide to Public Speaking. A concise guide to the art and craft of public speaking, one reader recently described it as, 'An invaluable resource. I learnt more from it in a day than I'd learnt in the last forty years combined.'
