Autorenporträt
David Blank was born in Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan) in 1958. He studied in the Kazakh State University in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan (1975-1980), when investigated Capra sibirica behavior in Tien-Shan Mountains. David got his PhD degree in the Tel-Aviv University for the theme "Social and mating behavior of Persian gazelle". He worked as a field zoologist in the Institute of zoology, Kazakh Academy of Sciences (Alma-Ata) and observed goitered gazelle behavior in Kazakhstan (1981-1991). After that he worked as zoologist in the Israel Nature Reserve Authority (1993-2005). Participated in the UNDP project China Wetlands Biodiversity Conservation (2005-2007). He worked in the Haipark Zoo in Israel. Later, David worked as an Assistant visiting professor in the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (Urumqi, Chinese Academy of Sciences - 2010-2015). And now he works as ecologist in the Research Center of Ecology and Environment of Central Asia, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (2015 - until now).
