The Brave Bunch: Stories of Kids Who Dared to Try
Meet The Brave Bunch -a wildly gutsy gang of kids who don't wait around for grown-ups to solve their problems (because let's face it, the grown-ups in these stories are either confused, missing, or too busy drinking tea with talking pigeons).
This isn't your sugary-sweet, squeaky-clean storybook. These tales are about real bravery-the kind that bubbles up when you're knee-deep in jungle mud, facing off with a suspiciously grumpy tree, or clinging to your wobbly bike while your socks are on backwards. Packed with impossible challenges,

The Brave Bunch: Stories of Kids Who Dared to Try

Meet The Brave Bunch-a wildly gutsy gang of kids who don't wait around for grown-ups to solve their problems (because let's face it, the grown-ups in these stories are either confused, missing, or too busy drinking tea with talking pigeons).

This isn't your sugary-sweet, squeaky-clean storybook. These tales are about real bravery-the kind that bubbles up when you're knee-deep in jungle mud, facing off with a suspiciously grumpy tree, or clinging to your wobbly bike while your socks are on backwards. Packed with impossible challenges, pesky fears, magical twists, and just enough absurdity to make bedtime a bit dangerous, this collection proves that bravery comes in all shapes, sizes, and snack preferences.

Inside, You'll Find:

  • A girl who climbs a tree taller than her own house (with shoes that keep squeaking secrets)
  • A maze that only opens at midnight and smells faintly of cheese
  • A paper airplane so powerful it causes a school-wide riot
  • A lost puppy that may-or may not-be part dragon
  • A whispering forest that's allergic to loud thoughts
  • A shadow monster who's more scared of tickles than kids
  • A castle that forgets it's a castle and thinks it's a sandwich

These aren't stories for quiet little angels. These are stories for the loud, the curious, the daring, and the occasionally clumsy-just like the kids who read them.

Autorenporträt
Emily Rose Whitaker grew up in a small town in Vermont where snow days meant hot cocoa and reading stacks of fairy tales under a big quilt. She always knew she wanted to write stories that kids would beg to hear "just one more time" before bed. Her love for adventure and a pinch of mischief shows up in every tale she spins.

Before writing full-time, Emily worked as a kindergarten teacher for almost a decade. Those years gave her more than enough funny moments and wild kid questions to fill a hundred books. She believes there's magic in the everyday stuff muddy boots, backyard forts, and secret handshakes between best friends.

When she's not writing, Emily can be found gardening with her two daughters, baking cookies that rarely make it to the jar, or camping in the woods with her husband. She swears she's never outgrown bedtime stories herself they're her favorite way to dream up the next adventure.
