Detective Silas Walker investigates the meticulously staged murder of Alistair Finch at Liverpool's Albert Dock. What appears to be a botched robbery quickly unravels into a far more sinister conspiracy involving Veridia Corporation, a cutting-edge biotech firm with ties to a shadowy, century-old secret society known as the Oculus. With the help of his loyal partner Harry Coleman, forensic pathologist Sarah Jones, and his archaeologist sister (also named Sarah), Silas uncovers a trail of coded symbols, historical ledgers, and corporate cover-ups that lead to a chilling revelation: Finch had discovered "Project Swift," a covert program developing untraceable chemical weapons under the guise of medical research.
As Silas closes in on the truth, the Oculus retaliates-first with a warning, then with targeted assassinations-forcing Silas to go rogue and use himself as bait. In a tense confrontation, he captures a high-level operative but realizes the true architects of the conspiracy remain untouched. Though justice is partially served, the deeper network endures. In the aftermath, Silas finds solace in family and love, only to be drawn back into another mystery that bears the unmistakable hallmarks of deception-and connection.
