Jackson Blast was thrown out of the apartment he shared with his wife, Effie Dux, when she found out about his affair with her sister, Taffy. The judge presiding over the divorce awarded all their belongings, including their employment agency, to Effie. Jackson, now broke and living in his parents house, decided to pursue his prior profession and opened a detective agency. With very little business coming in, he added an employment agency to the business. That was the beginning of hilarious mishaps and murder.

Philip Pak is a retired NYC policeman who grew up in Brooklyn, New York, before it was expensive and trendy. Back then, it was full of colorful characters: pool sharks, bookies, some real and some wanna-be wise guys. A lot of the characters in his stories are based on them. A great deal of time is spent researching poisons and weapons on the internet. Hopefully, the FBI won't be knocking on his door.
