1231 Publishing began in 2015 as a micro-publisher, to assist independent authors with their projects as well as creating more opportunities for the fiction writer. 1231 Publishing has started an annual anthology project, the first to be launched in September 2016, titled 'Obliquity'.

1231 Publishing services are aimed towards two types of writers: those authors with a strict budget and who don't need the 'full publishing package' but rather a few individual services as well as a helping hand to get started, or for authors who already have experience but want to focus on their writing rather than on back-of-house tasks.
