She believes that our best hope for staying in charge of our minds and our bank accounts in a time when deception is so easy and widespread is the adoption of critical thinking skills that help us see through surface appeals to the truth that lies beneath. Along with these insights and her advocacy of Media Literacy Education in our schools, her background has also inspired an appreciation for writers who reflect and respond to the culture of their times in thought-provoking ways.
