Karen Fischer is a qualified nutritionist with a Bachelor of Health Science Degree and a Diploma of Nutrition. She is a member of The International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT) and founder of the vitamin supplement company Skin Friend and the eczema support network Eczema Life. She knows what it's like to struggle with skin disorders, and over the past 20 years has worked first-hand with people with real skin issues, helping thousands to heal and reclaim their lives. In 2008, Karen's bestselling book The Healthy Skin Diet won 'Best Health, Nutrition or Specific Diet Book' at the prestigious Australian Food Media Awards. Her third book, The Eczema Diet, attracted widespread media attention, featuring on prime-time news in 2016 as a 'breakthrough diet for eczema'. She has also been featured extensively in magazines and on radio, discussing ways to improve dietary and skin conditions. For more than a decade, Karen has used the Eczema Diet in her private practice, including support groups and clinics, to help her patients, of all ages, become eczema-free. Combatting skin conditions is close to Karen's heart and she has devoted decades to helping others to alleviate their disorders. Her own two children have suffered from food intolerances and eczema, but with her help have reclaimed their health - and ability to eat anything they like!
