J.D. Marek lives in a home dating from 1850. Known affectionately as 'the old Applehouse' by old timers in the area, the land once boasted over 1500 apple trees.

Being a creative personality, Ms. Marek enjoys knitting, crocheting, sewing, and just about every type of needlework as well as being a concert level pianist. "I could never settle on doing any one thing exclusively," she says, "there are so many things I would like to learn and do in this life."

After many years of collecting antiques, she has now found beauty and pleasure in simplicity and open space, preferring to be a minimalist. It is in this place of simplicity, among her cats and the company of her Mother and Father that she has begun to write.
