One is bound to notice that the country operating under the Independence Constitution of the 6th September, 1968 which endorsed multiparty system, which was later repealed on the 12th April 1973, the Tinkhundla system of governance was introduced, defence force established and the Tinkhundla system of governance was finally legalized in 1978 with the college elections. During this period the Kingdom has had, Queen Regent Gwamile, King Sobhuza II, Queen Regent Dzeliwe, Queen Regent Ntombi and King Mswati III as Head of State with their different styles of running the Kingdom.
