An expert in 20th century forces, John Laffin has written extensively on he Australian army as well as the conflict in the Middle East. His other title for Osprey in the Men-at-Arms series is MAA 123 The Australian Army at War 1899-1975.

Mike Chappell comes from an Aldershot family with British Army connections stretching back several generations. He retired in 1974, as RSM of the 1st Battalion The Wessex Regiment (Rifle Volunteers), and since then has gained worldwide popularity as a military illustrator.
