"Honest, raw, and unforgettable-a rare perspective that needed to be heard." Born Deaf. Raised in a hearing world. Diagnosed with a rare heart condition. This is the story of one woman's fight to belong-in her body, her culture, and her voice. In The Journey of My Heart, Andrea Martinez shares an unflinching memoir of survival, grief, healing, and identity as a Deaf Latina with Long QT Syndrome. From misdiagnoses and isolation to the discovery of language and community, Andrea charts her path from silence to self-love, from trauma to truth. Told in vignettes rich with emotion and clarity, this memoir is for anyone who has felt unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. It's a story of losing everything and learning how to live again-with a different kind of power. Bold. Tender. Unapologetically honest. This is not the American Dream. This is the Deaf Latina Dream.
