Produktbeschreibung
A boy devours books until the words consume him. A cow's tongue rewrites history. A man trades his head for a television screen.

In this unsettling collection, Dennis Morton explores the strange territories where transformation becomes terror, where miracles carry a price, and where the ordinary world cracks open to reveal something darker beneath.

From the salt-water garglers of an Irish cliff-edge pub to a Belgian forest where obsession takes root, from a Turkana boy who can smell oil beneath the earth to a taxidermist's final, breathtaking revengethese nineteen stories pulse with dark humor, visceral imagery, and an unflinching gaze at what it means to change, to hunger, to become something other than human.

Blending folklore with body horror, political satire with quiet devastation, The Man Without A Head is a collection for readers who prefer their fiction strange, their transformations irreversible, and their endings anything but comfortable.

"Some stories lick you. Some devour you whole. These do both."

Autorenporträt
Dennis Morton has never been one for the beaten path. Conscripted into the South African army in 1979, his journey has since spanned continents and causes-from hitchhiking across Europe and managing oil exploration projects to standing alongside nomadic tribes in Africa in the fight against destructive ventures. Now based in the United Kingdom, Dennis channels a lifetime of travel, activism, and observation into his fiction. A photographer at heart and a poet by nature, he writes stories that blur the line between the real and the surreal, exploring humanity, memory, and the restless search for meaning.
