Inge Auerbacher is a Jewish Holocaust survivor, author, and speaker. Born in Germany in 1934, she was just a young girl when she and her family were sent to the Theresienstadt concentration camp during World War II. Despite the terrible conditions, Inge survived, becoming one of the very few children from the camp to make it out alive. After the war, Inge moved to the United States where she built a new life. She later became a chemist and began writing books to help children and adults understand the Holocaust. Her best-known book, "I Am a Star: Child of the Holocaust," shares her memories as a child in the camp. Inge travels to schools and communities around the world, teaching messages of tolerance, hope, and the importance of remembering history.
