The door isn't locked in this, but it still applies. You see there’s no way the person or persons could have been murdered in this room, and yet there’s this dead body. Then another one. And another one. Plus some near misses, but no one realizes that until later. The only commonality is this cabinet, and it’s definitely the murder weapon.No spoiler there that’s established almost immediately. But how is the murderer using it to kill people?Well that’s the mystery, and if I told you, you'd be mad. So I won't do that.

Burton Egbert Stevenson was an American author, anthologist, and librarian, born on November 9, 1872, in Chillicothe, Ohio. He attended Princeton University from 1890 to 1893, where he developed a strong foundation for his future literary career. Stevenson wrote extensively, creating works across various genres, including mystery and detective fiction, often combining his interest in literary themes with his profession as a librarian. His ability to craft compelling stories and anthologies earned him recognition during his lifetime. Apart from his literary pursuits, Stevenson contributed to the field of librarianship, where his expertise was valued. He passed away on May 13, 1962, at the age of 89. His works continue to be appreciated for their intricacy and thoughtfulness, reflecting his deep understanding of human nature and the world around him. He was influenced by the literary world and his experiences at Princeton, which shaped both his writing style and his professional contributions to the literary community.
