Will a thief ruin Labor Day for the whole town of Arrojo?
For Adele Gossling, Labor Day is about giving voice to progressive reforms such as the eight-hour work day and minimum wage for women. But for business owners in Arrojo, Labor Day is about making money. City folks flock to the country seeking holiday deals they can't get in San Francisco or Sacramento.

What they don't know is there's a thief in town. He's already gotten away with burglarizing business owners in neighboring cities, and the county police can't seem to get their hands on him.

Who is stealing gold trinkets from the shops in Arrojo, California? Is it the dandified Mr. Lyman? The town's junk collector and pariah, Zephyr Brown? Or is it someone (or something) beyond their wildest imagination?

Follow the adventures of epistolary expert and suffragist Adele Gossling and her visionary friend Nin Branch as they try to catch a thief and his unique accomplice.

Pick up this fourth book of what reviewers have praised as a "great series" where "characters come alive".

What reviewers are saying:

"A quick and entertaining read"

"The plot is tight, the characters interesting, and the dialogue realistic."

"Encourage you to read this book"

Autorenporträt
Writing has been Tam's voice since the age of fourteen. She writes stories set in the past that feature sassy and sensitive women characters. Her fiction gives readers the experience of women struggling to carve out an identity for themselves during eras when their options were limited. Her stories are set mostly around the Bay Area because she adores sourdough bread, Ghirardelli chocolate, and San Francisco history.

Tam is the author of the Adele Gossling Mysteries which takes place in the early 20th century and features suffragist and epistolary expert Adele Gossling whose talent for solving crimes doesn't sit well with her small town's conventional ideas about women. The first book of the series reached #1 in its category on both Amazon and Apple and went into the Top 100 Kindle Free Books on Amazon. It continues to appear on the list of popular books in its category.

Tam is also working on a new series, the Grave Sisters Mysteries, about three sisters who own a funeral home and help the county D.A. solve crimes in a 1920s small California town.

In addition, Tam writes historical fiction about women breaking loose from the social and psychological expectations of their time. She has a 4-book series set in the 1890s, the Waxwood Series, and a post-World War II short story collection, Lessons From My Mother's Life.

Although Tam left her heart in San Francisco, she lives in the Midwest because it's cheaper. When she's not writing, she's devouring everything classic (books, films, art, music), concocting yummy plant-based dishes, and exploring her new riverside town.
