Suddenly, a figure loomed in front of her, nearly making her scream. It was clearly one of the fraternity brothers, walking towards her bare-chested, with a white robe strung loosely around his hips.

But that wasn't what spooked her. It was the mask he wore. He shielded his face in a deer skull. She shook with every footstep he took towards her, until he towered over her, icy blue eyes staring down at her through the empty sockets of the skull. The whole affair was deeply cult-coded, and Emma couldn't help feeling a thick fog of dis-ease cloak her.

They stood like that for a long moment, Emma trying to find her voice to ask him what was going to happen next.

There was movement in her peripheral vision. As she turned to see what was coming for her, she was suddenly drenched from head to toe in red. Two guys, also similarly bare-chested and donning deer skulls, had whipped buckets of red liquid at her. Wiping her eyes, she stared down at herself, trembling hard as her brain caught up to the fact that she was covered in blood.

She wailed, freaking out as she tried to scoop the blood off her body. But, more buckets of the damn goopy liquid were being tossed at her from behind, cloaking her as darkly and radiantly as Carrie. She shrieked mindlessly, batting at her own skin as if she had been doused in crawling spiders, until, finally, a call from one of the sisters hidden in the shadows off to the side penetrated her frantic mind.

"Em, it's just food dye!"

It took a while for her to register the words, but finally she began to calm down. Oh, thank god it wasn't real pig's blood or something.
