Lord Damianos is disappointed that he has been captured again, but he remains imprisoned in hopes of being useful to his emperor and friend, Nikolos. When he meets Lady Thespia, he thinks she is an overly proud Achlysian, who needs to be knocked down a few pegs. But as he gets to know her, he begins to see that they might have more in common than he wants to admit. Is he falling in love?

The two become more attracted to each other, despite the conflict between their nations. They resist, knowing a match between them will be next to impossible. But their hearts refuse to listen. Will they learn to set aside their animosity, so they can help their respective nations?
