Through the eyes of teens navigating impossible expectations, a forgotten soldier mourning a lost war, and siblings bound by silent promises, Angela Ren examines the grief, guilt, and yearning that shape us all. Produktbeschreibung
Through the eyes of teens navigating impossible expectations, a forgotten soldier mourning a lost war, and siblings bound by silent promises, Angela Ren examines the grief, guilt, and yearning that shape us all. Set in the familiar yet often isolating landscapes of school halls, family kitchens, and memory-laden streets, these pieces drift between the real and the surreal, grounded in emotional truth. Written over four years of change, this book captures the quiet ache of growing up in a world that never wants to pause. Each story and poem is a glimpse into the moments we rarely share: the loneliness in a crowded room, the comfort of silent understanding, the resilience found in the most unlikely of situations. For anyone who has ever struggled to name their feelings or longed to be seen, this book is solace, truth, and the reminder that even stardust, when gathered, can become something luminous. Claire Hui is an artist whose paintings blend personal heritage and loving intent. A sophmore in high school, Claire first developed a passion for art at the age of three, doodling on textbook margins and tabletops. Since then, art has been her longest lasting and most cherished medium, a place for imagination and expression. She was inspired by her own mother, an artist as well, and at a young age learned the joy of creating not just for herself, but for others as well. Whether drawing a gift for a friend or helping family members with a special task, she considers and imagines carefully with every piece she makes. Claire's work is specifically influenced by classical Chinese painting and nature, with flowers and plant shapes often flowing through her drawings and ceramics. Her drawings possess the same modest beauty that she sees in the world: soft, thoughtful, and full of life.

Autorenporträt
Angela Ren is a writer, speaker, and advocate passionate about capturing the quiet moments that unveil the deepest parts of who we are. Her love for storytelling began in childhood, when she fell head over heels for fantastical lands only books contained, before progressing to afternoons lost in delightful drafts and notebook scribbles. While reading had become her refuge, writing was her response. Her work often explores the intricacies of personal and collective struggle, delving into themes of identity, emotional tension, and the unspoken dialogues that shape our lives. A leader on her school's speech team, Angela finds meaning in mentoring others, encouraging bold, authentic storytelling that speaks from the soul and gives voice to stories that often go untold. When she's not writing or speaking, she's tutoring youth, organizing community initiatives, or simply observing the world with a pen in hand. Angela is currently a senior in high school.
