A thousand years of history. One step at a time.
In a world that demands speed, Echo Krisko chose to slow down.
The Slow Road to Siena invites readers to walk the Via Francigena-an ancient pilgrim's path winding through the heart of Tuscany. Produktbeschreibung
A thousand years of history. One step at a time.

In a world that demands speed, Echo Krisko chose to slow down.

The Slow Road to Siena invites readers to walk the Via Francigena-an ancient pilgrim's path winding through the heart of Tuscany. From the walled city of Lucca to the medieval grandeur of Siena, this is more than a travel book. It is a meditation on presence, stillness, and the quiet lessons that unfold when we let our feet become our teachers.

As Echo moves through villages, vineyards, forests, and rolling hills, she begins to see how the landscape mirrors the inner journey. Guided by the kindness of strangers, the rhythm of her steps, and the unexpected blessings of the road, she discovers that the true destination is not a point on a map, but a new way of seeing the world-and herself.

Beautifully illustrated with vivid, full-color photography, this memoir captures the grace, discomfort, wonder, and transformation that come from walking a pilgrim road.

Perfect for readers who enjoy:

  • Soulful travel narratives
  • Spiritual or reflective memoirs
  • Pilgrimage stories (Via Francigena, Camino, and beyond)
  • Books filled with photography, culture, and quiet wisdom
  • Journeys that change you from the inside out

A story of pain and blessings, ordinary miracles and ancient paths, The Slow Road to Siena is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and rediscover the beauty of putting one foot in front of the other.

Autorenporträt
Echo is a spiritual seeker, traveler, perpetual student, and writer whose life has long been shaped by the intersection of nature, faith, and mindful living. After decades as a financial advisor, she began turning more deeply toward the journeys that have always called to herthe ones found in quiet gardens, long pilgrim roads, and the inner landscape of the heart.

She walked the segment of the Via Francigena from Lucca to Siena with her husband, Kevin, discovering along the way that pilgrimage is less about reaching a destination and more about learning how to be present to each unfolding moment.

Echo lives in Virginia and is currently working on several writing projects that weave together travel, nature, spiritual reflection, and the wisdom found in everyday life.

This memoir is one of the many paths she continues to follow with gratitude.
