His poetry and short fiction have appeared in various literary journals in the U.S. He has written extensively on art, culture, food, and travel for publications in Asia, Europe and the U.S. on a wide range of topics including contemporary Japanese ceramics, Bruce Lee, the Boy Scouts, masculine anxiety, architectural preservation, and the best fried chicken in Kuala Lumpur.
