The Tide of Deception is set in Maine, mostly on the Midcoast. Several vignettes feature the state's foibles, oddities, beauty, and natural attractions. I wrote the book at our house on Barters Island in Boothbay between the fall of 2023 and the spring of 2024. My resolute editor, Jennifer Caven, is a Mainer, as is my talented cover designer, Elizabeth Berry MacKenney. So, for those of you from away, I hope you enjoy The Tide of Deception a glimpse of Maine and the way life should be. And the mystery tide of 2008 is real.
