Mr. Brown has just had a heart attack. When he wakes up, he is surrounded by ravens who tell him that he is on trial to determine whether he is dead or not.
Comedy in the grand old style, The Trial of Mr. Brown asks the question, "What does it mean to truly be alive?" The characters are unforgettable, the setting is totally unique, and the plight of poor Mr. Brown is universally relatable. A thought-provoking entry into the world of Lady Raven, this is a stand-alone story that will leave you wondering if you too have been "walking about upstairs, dead as a doornail."

Blending Gothic atmosphere with razor-edged wit, The Trial of Mr. Brown is a haunting allegory of conscience, mortality, and grace. Fans of C.S. Lewis's "The Great Divorce," Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman," or Kafka's "The Trial" will find themselves at home in this shadowed courtroom-where even the dead must answer for the lives they've lived.

Autorenporträt
J.J. Roberts is the author of the "Lady Raven" series, the novelettes "Old Fama" and "Violent Grapes," as well as several short stories and poetry. He has a lot of projects lined up, like a children's series in space-imagine Firefly meets Narnia-and another series about a boy who becomes the king of the pirates (with a little help from the Leviathan), as well as a gothic, apocalyptic romance set in France directly following the fall of the Carolingian monarchy to the Vikings. While all of these things are currently in the Department of Nondone, they are rising closer to the light every day. He's not limited to books either, he's got an amazing board game called King of Calaban he is working on, and hopefully he'll have that ready for a Kickstarter campaign soon. J.J. Roberts is an Orthodox Christian, and a Traditionalist in the vein of C.S. Lewis, Hillaire Belloc, and J.R.R. Tolkien. He is currently living in Michigan with his wife and two children. For any questions about J.J Robert's books or products, please send an email to jonrobertswrites@yahoo.com, or contact him at https://www.jjroberts [period] net/contact.
