Alistair Henley is having a bad night. His girlfriend, Rhona, has suggested they take a break from each other and he's been left to ponder his life as an unemployed nobody.

His friend, Dave Snyder, is a movie geek and a college student. He decides to take Ally out on an adventure. First to the pub, then into the local dark wilderness. They almost get run over by a man in a pickup truck. Out of drunken anger, Ally tracks the driver back to his house in the middle of nowhere.

Norman Welk is also having a bad night. He has a dead sheep in the back of his truck and a secret in the bomb shelter behind his house. All in all a good night to drink to forget.

When Ally is bitten by the thing in the bomb shelter, both he and Norman are forced to come to terms with the ugliness that exists within them.

Their bad night didn't end. And many will die before it does.
