Not Where You Expect to Spy a Monster
Steph sipped her coffee first, which had cooled considerably but still warmed her from the inside out.
"Okay, I'm ready. You're right, I wasn't going to be sleeping much anyway trying to figure this out on my own. Or trying to convince myself I'm not completely crazy."
Greg shook his head.
"I'd say you're anything but crazy, Steph. Far from it, even though it probably feels that way right now. I'll probably be confirming more than you want me to about what you ran into."
A massive wave of relief threatened to take Steph all the way past relaxed and into exhausted.
"What I ran into? Not who?"
Greg held up one level hand and tilted it back and forth.
"I hope there's some kind of who there for anyone who can manage to make contact with one. But yeah, what fits a lot better. It's definitely not human."
