The premise of this collection of essays is one idea which is simple and obvious and accurate, yet which, due to the dishonesty and cowardice that pervades today's political climate, no one before me (to my knowledge) has had the courage and the confidence to say. The idea can be summarized thusly: The term "the Right" means the Christian statist movement, the movement which seeks the creation of a Christian state in which Christianity is an official state religion, and obedience to Christian theology is imposed by law and mandated by law. The term "the Left" means the Communist and socialist statist movement, the movement which seeks the creation of a Communist state, in which Communism is the official state economics, and obedience to Communist ideology is imposed by law and mandated by law. The so-called "Culture War" exists because Christianity is a missionary religion, which by its very nature seeks to convert all non-believers to its theology by force, while Communism is a missionary ideology, which by its very nature seeks to convert all non-believers to its economics by force. So, while the Christians are trying to convert the Communists, the Communists are also trying to convert the Christians, which has led to a war between Left and Right. Instead of fighting this war on the battlefield, they fight it in the culture, in media, in education, and on the internet. Both sides have become fond of the tactic of trying to censor and silence the other side, assuming that, if theirs is the only voice that people can hear, then eventually everyone will agree with them, and they can dominate the culture. The only alternative to Left and Right is a concept that I call "liberal democracy," which means a democracy in which there is no state religion and there is no state economics, such that there are no laws that legislate morality and there are no laws that legislate the economy. It also means a democracy in which there is no official state race or nationality or culture and there is no official state gender, such that there are no laws that legislate race and there are no laws that legislate gender. In a liberal democracy, everyone enjoys perfect freedom of speech and perfect freedom of belief. It is always a democracy and there is never one-party rule because there is no official state political party. Liberal democracy is a distinctly American development. In contrast, both Christian statism and Communist statism arose from European history, not from American history. I believe that Objectivism and Libertarianism are the most effective means to achieve liberal democracy and to provide a real alternative, a third path, as a different option than Left or Right, so that people could choose among three choices, not only two. Objectivism and Libertarianism is neither Left nor Right, but it combines the economic freedom of the Right with the social freedom of the Left, so, in that sense, it is both Left and Right. However, today, the Right has seized control of Objectivism and Libertarianism, for one simple reason: Christianity has no inherent theory of economics, but Objectivism and Libertarianism has an inherent theory of economics, one which is capable of refuting Communist economics, so the Right is trying to use us to defeat the Left with an ultimate goal of exploiting us to create a Christian state. Objectivism and Libertarianism, which is inherently atheistic in nature, is being conquered by the Christian statists because they can make use of our economics. That's the basic idea of this book. This book then fleshes out this idea, in depth, in roughly 100 pages of insightful analysis. Please read this book now, today, because, in 20 years, or in 50 years, you might not have the freedom to read it any longer.

Autorenporträt
Russell Hasan was born the son of a white Jewish mother and a dark-skinned Muslim fatherand that isn't the strangest thing about him. His father had ties to the mafianope, not the weirdest thing about him. He thought he was a gay man for many years before realizing he is agender asexualrelatively normal compared to what truly makes him strange. Do you want to know what the weirdest, strangest thing about Russell is?

He's a WRITER.

Yes, that's right. He writes. Why? How? Why would he want to do that to himself? How could he allow this to happen to himself? He is still trying to figure that one out. Therapy can cure lots of things and alcohol and drugs can cure other things, but the only cure for being a writer is to write, so he writes. He's not into BDSM, yet for some reason he has chosen to punish himself by having a passion for writing and a need to write. Despite having made the huge mistake of choosing to be a writer, his books have sold over 10,000 copies, so perhaps it was not the worst mistake he ever made after all. He does not have one particular bestseller but has instead spread those 10,000 sales across many books he wrote. His magical journey of self-torture begins when he has the idea for a new book, and then continues when he wakes up at 6am to write from 6am to 8am before work every day (he has a day jobhe's not insane! His day job is being a lawyer, the most boring, evil job in the world, by the way), and, after many cups of Starbucks matcha tea and Coca Cola (never Pepsiyuck!) he somehow puts words onto a page. He has written 30 books, both nonfiction and fiction, but, as something of a twist on the traditional successful indie author model, he is known more for his indie nonfiction, not his fiction. But he does write fiction. Some of his fiction is good too, probably, he hopes.
