Nick West is a fourth-generation Floridian who has lived in Alachua County for his entire life. He attended Gainesville High School and the University of Florida. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and served on board the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga. Nick grew up on a family farm, where he still lives. Together, he and his family have owned and operated a landscape and hardscape business since 1966. The Wacahoota Wampus is his eighth novel.
