What does it mean to be a Christian? This question has been wrestled with and answered in innumerable ways for nearly two thousand years. The Wayfarer's Inn grapples with this question while being mindful of the unique challenges facing the contemporary church. A church governing committee filled with conflict, a bus crash, a mysterious inn where the committee members and pastor are stranded, a mysterious inn staff, and a surprise ending continue to draw the reader in throughout this unique Christmas fantasy. Largely dialogical, the pastor and committee members interact in ways that are all too human and familiar. This makes it easy for the reader to identify with one or more of the well-defined cast of characters. Readers may find themselves grappling--along with the stranded travelers--with a question that holds critical relevance and imperative value for the church today.
