Embolization is a safe and effective therapy for intra visceral bleeding, closure of arterio-venous malformations, non-surgical nephrectomy and splenectomy. Dr Kiron Varghese is Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiology, and also the Chief Interventional Cardiologist at St.Johns Medical College, Bangalore. He is a popular and well known Cardiologist, and his areas of expertise include Interventional Cardiology (Angioplasty and Stenting), Peripheral Interventions and Preventive Cardiology .He Graduated from St John's Medical College with a University Gold Medal in Final MBBS, completed his MD (General Medicine) from Bangalore Medical College, and then did Post-Doctoral training in Cardiology from Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, Bangalore. Thereafter, he completed a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology from the world famous Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, USA.He has also participated in numerous research projects and has numerous publications to his credit.

Dr Srilakshmi M Adhyapak was born in 1967 in Bangalore. Her interests are creative writing and painting. She had composed her first poem in 1978 and had published a few poems in school journals. She has graduated in Medicine with specialisation in Cardiology. She is at present working as 'Assistant Professor, Department of Cardiology, St.John's Medical College Hospital, Bangalore.
