THEY CALL ME THE LOU REED OF POETRY got it's title from the comments of an audience member one Saturday afternoon in a pub hosting spoken word. The book is a series of short, untitled poems some of which are based around legends of the music industry. The poems are strong on imagery, some read like pop songs, written in cafes and parks and filled with the lives of ordinary people.

Autorenporträt
PETER YOWIE is an Australian man who was born in Melbourne. He gave himself the name Yowie after the legend of the mythical aboriginal creature and children's chocolate, he wanted a name that people would remember. He spent some of his childhood in late 1970s England where he was dressed like a punk by his older adopted brother and that sentimentality has never left him. He knew he first wanted to be a writer at the age of eleven when he won an eisteddfod with a short story to survive an avalanche. In his spare time he plays guitar, swims laps at the local pool and sees live music with his bandbuddy.
