As I traipse back through the centuries of information available outlining how humans have lived, been managed and controlled, I note with disappointment that while much positive change has occurred, much remains the same. Travelling the world and talking to thousands of people over the years, I have learned much. It has become clear to me that most people think leadership is for the chosen few. Thinking and behaving like this alienates society and keeps citizens and humanity segregated and incarcerated. Every single person has an inner leader. Every single person can be taught how to think like a thought leader. The sooner we assist people to think and behave this way, the better. Better for them, better for their family and better for the global community. Having worked at all levels of society and having been an observer of the incredible human machine I have seen what is possible when people at all levels of ability are provided with nourishment and support. After all, it's just changing the cogs in our mind and challenging our social conditioning and giving our evolution a bit of a kick start, seeing it from a different viewpoint and then practising until we have embedded new ways of thinking and behaving. When the conversation deepens with these enlightening, interesting conversations and an inquiry is made as to what I do in my professional life, it is an opportunity to discuss leadership more deeply and given this is close to my heart, it can be a wide, interesting, fulfilling conversation. The response from an intergenerational mix is of interest and enthusiasm and support for these ideas but they haven't heard them spoken about this way. Their response is music to my ears. It inspires me. It gives me the enthusiasm and passion and energy to continue to unravel the incredible human machine and to continue talking about it globally, writing about it and speaking on the radio. It is a beautiful thing to see a light bulb go off in their mind and I often wonder what they take away from the conversation and how it impacts their life.
