Nuria grew up in the luxurious city of Patrione, where life is governed by the rigid rules of the upper class. There, she found no self-determination as a woman. When her father finally takes her to the family farm, she witnesses the harsh reality that shapes the lives of the Alaz people, including Yon. While her father tries to promote peaceful coexistence and her cousin Dario clings to old power structures, Nuria begins to form her own opinion, free from prejudice.
Yon has neither rights nor obligations. He is a nobody, raised by the winged Alaz. Although they are formally free, the Alaz still suffer prejudice and discriminationa fate Yon shares without really belonging to their community. Without a plan, he struggles through life aloneuntil he meets Nuria.
Their worlds are far apart, and their growing feelings are dangerous. Society forbids love between them, a boundary that Yon feels doubly as an outsider. He must decide: Should he open his heart to a woman who belongs to the oppressors? Will Nuria break down the barriers between the Patricis and the Alaz, or will she live up to the expectations of her father and cousin, becoming part of the system Yon despises?
