When academic dreams crumble, sometimes you have to risk everything for a chance at love...

After a devastating betrayal by her university mentor, brilliant history graduate Lily Wootton is adrift in London with no direction and wounded pride. Her sister Kat's invitation to spend autumn in Lapland feels like the perfect escape-until a community crisis turns her quiet retreat into the challenge of a lifetime.

When the town's beloved autumn festival faces collapse, Lily finds herself thrown together with Joak-the last person she wanted to see again, let alone work closely with. The passionate environmental activist is now building a new life in Ylläs around sustainable tourism and grassroots activism, but he's horrified when Andersson Mining swoops in as the festival's emergency sponsor.

For Joak, the festival was meant to unite the community against destructive mining practices. The corporate sponsorship feels like betrayal. For Lily, the funding offers a chance to save the event and prove herself useful-even if it means relying on her brother-in-law's controversial family fortune.

Forced into constant contact amid stalls of cloudberry jam, reindeer sausages, and the blazing colours of Ruska season, their complicated history and immediate attraction clash with deep ideological divides. Their heated debates about power, privilege, and responsibility spill over into long nights under crimson skies and bonfire-lit gatherings.

As the festival draws near and the first snows threaten, Lily and Joak must decide what matters most-their principles, their pride, or the undeniable connection sparking between them.

Under the Northern Lights and the golden glow of Lapland's autumn, can two stubborn hearts find that the greatest risk of all is opening up to love?
