This is a story about a little boy named Jason in the second grade. He does not want to go to school on the first day of school. His family just moved from out of state, and he is nervous about not knowing anyone. Dr. Brenda Joyce Sanders is an educator, parent, and Christian concerned about the impact of words and actions on others. She is determined to be a part of improving human perceptions as people interact with those who are different than they are.

With thirty years of experience as an educator, she has authored more than two hundred online articles, over sixty of which are education-related. Additionally, the author wrote an educational book entitled "Educationally Correct, Academically Sound: Fueling School Programs and Student Achievement," and a Christian book called "Living Saved in an Unsaved World: The Book of Daniel, a Daily Devotional."

This author has also written 4 children's books: "It Does Not Matter If You Are Black or White," "It Does Not Matter If You Are Black or White: The Untold Story, Part 2," "Together We Can Do This," and "Apology Accepted."

Dr. Sanders founded an organization called BLACKS, Black Leaders Activating Cultural Knowledge to Succeed, in Eugene, Oregon. This organization strives to equalize academic and career readiness as well as advocate for Black students.

Dr. Sanders earned a B.A. in broadcast journalism from California State University, Long Beach, an M.A.T. from Pacific University and an EdD (doctorate) from George Fox University.
