'Toy Soldiers' is the moving story of two young friends, Darcy and Oliver, who play innocent games as children and dream about their heroes. A few years later when those games become real they learn that the war they imagined was just an illusion. It is ugly and cruel, like a woman who has seduced them from a distance and spun around to face them like an old hag. Their awakening is poignant yet tragic and their story is unforgettable.

Autorenporträt
Kathryn McGarry, born in Manchester, and now living in Birmingham trained as a Primary School Teacher after working in Investment Banking in London. That is where her interest in writing children's fiction began. 'Toy Soldiers' is an intelligent and moving debut book and we look forward to her next project.
