Autorenporträt
William Bolitho (1891-1930) was a fearless journalist, war correspondent, and thinker whose short life burned brightly with brilliance and intensity. Born Charles William Ryall, he adopted the pen name William Bolitho and quickly made a name for himself writing for publications like The New York World and The Manchester Guardian. His sharp mind, biting wit, and fearless curiosity took him from the battlefields of World War I to the salons of Paris, where he counted writers like Ernest Hemingway and Noël Coward among his admirers. Bolitho had a rare gift: he could take the lives of history's most daring figures and make them feel dangerously alive. In Twelve Against the Gods, his most famous and only major book, he examines the essence of the adventurer-not just in action, but in spirit. Though he died tragically young at the age of 39, Bolitho left behind a work that continues to challenge and inspire those who dream beyond limits.
