Autorenporträt
Jules Verne (1828-1905) was a French novelist, poet, and playwright. At the age of nineteen, Verne was sent to study law in Paris but instead developed a love of theater. Verne's first novel, Five Weeks in a Balloon, was published in 1863. This was quickly followed by his most famous works, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Around the World in Eighty Days, and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
