Autorenporträt

The theme for this short story collection began with The Cameras. I wanted to participate in a writing challenge (26 posts in 26 days in April), but I didn't want to duplicate what I'd written in 2017's challenge. So I thought, and I thought, and inspiration passed me by.

Then, a restless night sent me to the place where I can always fall asleepthe sofa. (It's brain conditioning). I don't know about you, but I like to sleep in total darkness, usually with a sleeping mask. That night, I didn't have it, and the various LED lights bothered me. On the microwave. On the cable box. Etc.

Inspiration returned with a vengeance. What if, I wondered, they weren't lights, but cameras? What if an old man with reason to be para- noid thought they watched every move he made? What if he lived in a retirement village in Arizona (as I do) where other strange things happened?

I hope you enjoyed the tales in Twilight. My favorites? The Cameras, of course, followed by Hand Over the Baby and Impersonators.
