UGLY STORIES

Welcome back to thirteen more dark dreams and nefarious nightmares oozing from the deepest, darkest corners of the mind of Tobin Elliott.

TERRIBLE PEOPLE

This second collection harbours more stories of lovers, of family, of friends, of enemies. Tales of mothers and fathers who seal the fate of their children, of child stars who can tell you the how, the why, and the when of your fate, tales of those willing to gamble everything on their fate, and those whose fate whispers in the wires and sings on the wind. Even a tale of a strange and seductive hitchhiker who will cast a horrible fate on anyone foolish enough to give them a ride.

HORRIBLE THINGS

Sometimes, however, fate can be cheated. Maybe by a prescient dream, or perhaps by simply falling through the right door. Maybe it's a well-timed push in the rain, or maybe the unseen future has different plans. It could be something as simple as eating a piece of damn birthday cake.

Whatever your pleasure, there's thirteen stories chosen to scare you, to rattle you, and to cause you discomfort. Welcome once again to the nightmares of Tobin Elliott.

Feel free to leave a light on. It won't help, but at least you'll be able to see the disturbing things trying to snuggle up to you.

Autorenporträt
Tobin was destined for horror. This became obvious when, in the span of two weeks, he built a working model of a guillotine out of popsicle sticks and a razor blade which his Grade Five teacher didn't seem to appreciate as much as he did and he also learned to tie a noose and proudly hung one from their apartment balcony which his mother and the superintendent didn't seem to appreciate as much as he did.

Eventually, he learned to focus the horror into stories. His friends and neighbours likely appreciate the lesser PDH (Public Displays of Horror).

Besides writing ugly stories about bad people doing horrible things, Tobin also counts embarrassing his wife and kids, pointing out the stupidities of others, being dumb to kind animals, and killing plants among his hobbies.

Finally, Tobin loves feedback, either positive or negative, on his writing. You can find him occasionally reviewing indie books on Goodreads, or being sarcastic on Twitter (@thehorrorguy91) and Instagram (@tobinelliott.horrorguy).
