Autorenporträt
Amr Adly received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Power Engineering from Cairo University and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, USA. He worked as a Senior Magnetics Scientist at LDJ Electronics, USA and has been a faculty member in Cairo University since 1994. During the summers of years 1996-2000, Prof. Adly worked as a Visiting Research Professor at the University of Maryland, USA. Prof. Adly worked as a design consultant to a major Power Transformer Design Manufacturer. He served as Cairo University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and the Deputy Minister of Higher Education. He has been serving as the President of Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology since 2022. He authored two books, published more than 140 reviewed papers, holds one U.S. patent and has been an IEEE Fellow since 2010. Prof. Adly has been awarded numerous awards such as the University of Maryland ECE Dept. Distinguished Alumni Award, and the Egyptian State Appreciation Prize.

Salwa Abd-El-Hafiz received the B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from Cairo University-Faculty of Engineering (CUFE), Egypt and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA. Since 1994, she has been a faculty member in the Engineering Mathematics and Physics Department, CUFE, and became a Full Professor in 2004. From 2014 to 2020, she served as Director of the Technical Center for Career Development, Department Chair, and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, respectively, in CUFE. She co-authored two books, contributed different chapters to four books, and published more than 110 reviewed papers. Her research interests include computational intelligence, software engineering, and information security. Prof. Abd-El-Hafiz is a recipient of the 2001 Egyptian State Encouragement Prize in Engineering Sciences, recipient of the 2014 African Union Kwame Nkrumah Regional Scientific Award for Women in basic science, technology and innovation, and an IEEE senior member.
