Mangal maharaj was born to Bhoo devi the goddess of Earth. One of our Puranas state that our Lord Mars was borne of a tear droplet as Lord Shiva mourned the death of his consort, Devi Parvati. The red tear droplet fell to the earth and a crying many-armed infant was born. Once born, the Goddess Earth appeared to Lord Shiva and Shiva, while still mourning his beloved, asked the Goddess to take care of our Lord Mars and granted a boon to Him. Lord Shiva said that whoever wants the benefit of land, shall have to seek the blessing of Mars. Hence the importance of Mars to everyone who ever wants to invest or buy real estate in any form!
