The fall of the Berlin Wall launched the transformation of government, economy and society across half of Europe and the former Soviet Union. Richard Rose is the Director of the Centre for the Study of Public Policy, University of Aberdeen. A fellow of the British Academy and of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, he has published over 40 books translated into 18 languages.
