Nompumelelo Ngcobo is a South African author, cultural researcher, and PhD candidate at the University of KwaZulu-Natal's School of Religion. Her work focuses on the preservation of indigenous knowledge systems, language, and spirituality.

She is the creator of the uQamata Cultural Series, a four-part collection of children's books inspired by her daughter, Qamata. Written in isiZulu, the series aims to reconnect young readers with African traditions, rituals, and storytelling. Ngcobo emphasizes the importance of language as a vessel of memory and culture, stating that writing in isiZulu is a deliberate act to preserve the language that holds the essence of the culture.
