Fr. Jose was quite unique and original in many ways. One of the striking aspects of his personality was that he always attempted to make a very fruitful combination of his brain and heart. Hence, his altruistic and humanitarian concerns were founded on divine inspiration and daring initiatives even in the midst of adverse situations and discouragements. He always ventured to care for the integral development of all the people around him, even when they disregarded him.

His absolute trust in Divine Providence and his daring initiatives encourage us to commit our lives to worthwhile causes of the larger human society founded on a solid and secure self-awareness. Fr. Jose can be an inspiration to anyone who feels let down in lifefrom family and friendsand to make a daring leap forward to pursue and construct one's own life in a fruitful manner.

Autorenporträt
Fr. Dr. Benny Thekkumkattil MC, a member of the Heralds of Good News and later of the Missionaries of Compassion, considers it his privilege to have had the opportunity to live with Fr. Jose for over two decades. In the initial years of the foundation of the Heralds of Good News, he lived with Fr. Jose in the minor seminary at Kurukuru, and later, as a priest, at Manginapudi Beach. He also had the privilege of being with Fr. Jose during the early years of the foundation of the Missionaries of Compassion while serving as the Director of the Good Samaritan Cancer & General Hospital at Vangayagudem.

He holds Master's degrees in English Literature and Philosophy, and a Ph.D. in Contemporary Western Philosophy. After completing his term as the Superior General of the Missionaries of Compassion, he is currently engaged in pastoral ministry in Italy.

Through the biography of Rev. Dr. Jose Kaimlett, the author attempts to present a lucid portrayal of a great missionary and visionary of our times. What is written in these pages is born out of his experience, interaction, and sharing with Fr. Jose. The author himself has drawn inspiration and insights from the exemplary life of Fr. Jose and gratefully acknowledges the contributions of Fr. Jose's friends and relatives.
