No one is perfect, and keeping it all together can be hard. But where there is someone with a willingness to look past the parts of us that are broken, we can have a life that makes us truly happy, whether that is as part of a group, or accepting our uniqueness and being on our own. We must learn that imperfection is simply a change from what is considered the norm.

As we grow in confidence we see that the norm is only an opinion; so, if you're happy with you-- Stay Happy!! The most difficult thing, as a kid, to do is accept ourselves as we are. Not everyone will be the most beautiful or handsome, not everyone is voted most popular. But you can choose to be a you that you can look in the mirror and appreciate.

This book is meant to include anyone that believes that they may be different, weird, or simply broken in some way. We've all felt it, the stares and names of bullies and then the laughter of the crowd, at our expense. It happens; it has happened for generations. The next thing is, what do you do with your feelings?

We're All Broken is a story that wants you to know that no matter how many times you fail to impress others, feel like you're unpopular, or have others judge you; the choice is your's as to what happens next. Do you run and hide and hope that one day it all will just change? In this story, you find out that you have to love you. You have to have faith that you have purpose enough to keep showing up each day!

Just remember, you can be something beautiful in the end.

Autorenporträt
Juan Alemán II is a poet, screenwriter, and short story writer. He is from Texas and in his life has been a father, husband, soldier, and actor. One of his battles in life is his fight to get control of his mental health. Some days are far better than others, but such is life.Juan has self-published two books, his first was a children's book titled, "We're All Broken." A story of realizing that no matter how perfect, happy, or beautiful someone may be; there is always that thing that eats at the façade. No one in life is perfect and at times we all feel broken. His second book, "Divergent Lives of No Consequence: Short Stories" is a much more adult take on the struggles of harsh home environments, battles with PTSD and other mental health issues, and a fear of a bleak future. Some of Juan's outside interests are disabled veterans' organizations, youth reading programs, and mental health awareness. "The need to excel begins with the confidence to know that you can."
